On Wednesday, May 31, 2023, Redwood High School’s Class of 2023 graduated.
The commencement ceremony was held in the Mineral King Bowl.
Former Associated Student Body [ASB] President Savannah Torres ‘23 and Gabriela Mora ‘23 welcomed guests to the ceremony.
Hailey Rasmussen gave her remarks as the Class Speaker.
The California Scholarship Federation [CSF] Lifetime Members were recognized by the 2023-2024 CSF officers.
Ashlyn Guenter ‘24 will serve as CSF President. Alongside her, Clare Gonzalez ‘24, will serve as Vice President.
Donya Hassanshahi ‘25 will serve as Secretary and Erik Navarro ‘25 will serve as Treasurer.
CSF Lifetime Members wore a gold stole as a recognition of their accomplishment.
Assistant Principals Alexa Barba-Tepper and Eric Rodriguez recognized students for a variety of merits.
Barba-Tepper recognized students who met Visalia Unified School District’s [VUSD] College and Career Readiness criteria.
Students wore a blue and white honor cord to denote the accomplishment.
Rodriguez recognized students who earned the California State Seal of Biliteracy.
In addition to an official seal on their transcripts, students received a medallion.
Barba-Tepper presented the Rotary Club Citizenship Award to Ashley Zambada.
Jeremy May, President of the Downtown Visalia Kiwanis Club, presented the Kiwanis Club Awards to Donya Akhavon and Jacob Siegel.
Remarks by Principal Dr. Amanda Richard, Superintendent Kirk Shrum, and Nick Miller were given.
Angelica Jauregui, Stacy Gonzales, Nicole Vieira, Jason Vieira, and the Board of Education presented the students with their diplomas.
Graduates, alumni, staff, and current students alike joined to sing the alma mater.
The class of 2023 was presented and officially began their journey after high school.
