Last Thursday the traditional blood drive was held in pop up vans in front of the LJ Theatre. Typically it is held in the school gym, but this year there was a change in plans due to new regulations against contamination. It was a much more effective and easier set-up. Even with this adjustment that did not stop the students from wanting to donate their blood. To be able to donate you had to be 16 years old and 110 pounds, but even with these requirements the turn out was better than expected.

Samantha Andres, ‘19, has donated 2 years in a row and continues to donate in the future. She says, “I love helping people in our community and I know it is for a good cause.” Redwood ASB puts together this event to make sure everything runs smoothly and there is no confusion with anything. Brianna Lopez,’19, was in charge of this event as the ASB President and she dealt with everything in a very mature and professional matter. There is another blood drive being planned for next semester, so if you missed your chance it is not too late to save lives!
