On the early morning of May 31, 2023, the graduating class of 2023 from Redwood High School gathered for a unique tradition – the Senior Breakfast. This annual event, organized and funded entirely through staff donations, set the stage for the students’ momentous graduation day.
As early as 6 am, diligent staff members set up a spread of light breakfast items, including bagels, muffins, donuts, and fresh fruit. The Senior Breakfast, an anticipated event each year, provides a venue for students to bond and share in the excitement and anticipation of their upcoming graduation ceremony.
By 7 am, seniors began to arrive. Some were bright-eyed with excitement for the day ahead, while others still shook off the remnants of sleep. Over breakfast, they talked about their plans for the day, reminisced about their shared experiences, and took the time to simply enjoy each other’s company.
After the breakfast, the seniors proceeded to the Mineral King Bowl for their graduation practice, marking the start of their final day as high school students. The breakfast was more than just a meal; it was a shared experience, a cherished memory, and a soft start to a day that will remain etched in their memories.
As Redwood High School’s class of 2023 steps towards their future, they carry with them a treasure trove of memories, from their first day at the school to their last shared meal. This spirit of community, nurtured through traditions like the Senior Breakfast, is a testament to the ethos of Redwood High School, emphasizing not just education, but camaraderie and shared experiences.
