Visalia, CA— On Monday, August 21, 2023, Redwood High School administration opened student nominations for this year’s School Site Council [SSC] elections.

Student members work collaboratively with adults to make decisions, learn about the school’s data, experience how decisions are made, and match resources with needs.

A member serves a two-year term representing their peers and gaining leadership experience.

What is a School Site Council?

Comprised of students, parents, the principal, teachers, and staff, the SSC develops and annually updates the School Plan for Student Achievement [SPSA], a formal school plan that meets state and federal requirements.

In addition, SSCs are involved in developing the Local Control and Accountability Plan [LCAP] with the school district, have oversight of district funding, and monitor for resource inequities.

A high school’s SSC is required to have three student members who are elected by their peers.

To run for Redwood High School’s 2023-2024 School Site Council, complete this Google Form (Students only).
