On Tuesday, April 9, 2024, Redwood High School Assistant Principal Alexa Barba-Tepper received the Visalia Unified School District [VUSD] Administrator of the Year award.
“[Receiving the award] was a fun surprise,” Barba-Tepper says. “I’m not one to consider being recognized or put in the spotlight. I’m super appreciative of the people who nominated me because they just took the time to stop and think to nominate me.”
The Administrator of the Year award is given to school administrators who go beyond the bare minimum and work hard to provide students with a positive, supportive learning environment.
“I guess [working hard is] just how I’m how I’m built, Barba Tepper says. “I know I’m helping people, and that’s why I give it my all.”
Barba-Tepper has been working at Redwood for 17 years. She says that she “love[s] being in the mix with everyone’s programs and just helping and watching students grow.”
