The 64th annual Cowhide was one to never forget. The game began with Redwood kicking off to Whitney. The ball would be spotted at the Whitney 30 yard line. There were too many incomplete passes, so, although Whitney may’ve moved down field, they didn’t score on their drive, due to interception caught by #29, on the 9 yard line. This was later followed with a safety, which put Whitney on the board, 2-0. Then, Whitney gets a huge pass that is returned to the 8 yard line. Whitney’s QB runs down the middle for a touch down. The PAT was good, but there was a penalty on the kick, so it was moved back. The next kick was blocked by Aguilar with 6:12 left in the first. Whitney 8, Redwood 0. Redwood receives the kickoff. Julian Sanchez throws to Aguilar. The next play was called offsides on Whitney. The ball was moved to the 47. 2nd quarter gets underway with #6MW completing a pass with #10MW. But not for much yardage. After Redwood succeeds at getting stops Whitney was forced to kick the field goal, but it bounced off the left post. The blocking wasn’t successful. John Vega becomes QB.
