Having a chip on their shoulders going into this new season, they have been putting in lots of work during the off season.

Griswold mentioned that another thing they are focusing on is new formations and overall how they move on the field.

Griswold also talks about some of the main things their coach has been emphasizing.

One of those things being winning.

Griswold said, “The goal is always to end up winning, win as much as we can in the three month season and you know that’s the league; and then valley, but I think for a lot of our guys, valley means a lot to us.”

Losing outside backs and attackers was a minor setback, however according to Griswold, two seniors have decided to step up to the plate and fill in both of those roles.

Nathan Zetino, ‘26, says, “During off season, we usually work on our conditioning and make sure our fitness is high so that we’re not getting too tired in high pressure games.”

“During the season, we’re more working on the technical part of it, and all of our techniques and tactics going into the upcoming games,” Zetino says.

Although they have an incredibly strong midfield, there are a couple spots that have to be filled in.

Having an exceptional team last year was definitely a huge accomplishment for the team, however it comes with a territory, as they have something to prove.

Zetino says, “Some of the challenges that we expect are generally because we had such a great season last season, that we need to try to step it up this season and become even better; we don’t want to fall off, we want to stay hot.”

As team captain, Griswold said how their goal is to win, but it goes beyond that. He wants everyone to know that their team is a threat to the valley.

“[I want the team to be known for] intensity; I want it to be fear.”
