Last Wednesday, February 16, was a very special day for Redwood-bound eighth graders. They were able to visit our campus and get a detailed tour of the place, followed by a performance by Dance Force, cheer and a few other electives to help them get a look at what the electives are about.
The high school students behind the event were excited to introduce the eighth graders to their future campus.
“It’s nice welcoming in a new class that will get to experience the next four years and just pass on this information as they come in,” says Jonathan Luna from ASB.
“I hope that they just get a perspective as to how Redwood’s going to be for the next four years and they feel excited to join this amazing school,” he adds.
“I feel pretty excited because they’re like the new generation that’s going to be a part of our school and also our family that is going to be a freshman so [I’m] pretty excited,” says Mateo Alonzo, a dancer who performed.
What he hoped the visit accomplished was, “probably [for the eighth graders] to get involved when they become freshmen and just be a part of the community.”
When asked what he thought of the day, Alonzo replied that, “today is cold but it’s going to be worth it because it’s for the eighth graders and like I said, that’s going to be exciting.”
