Tonight the 13-6 Redwood Rangers return to action against the 12-7 Hanford Bullpups. The Rangers are red hot at the moment, coming off a big 59-38 win against inner-city rival Golden West last week.
Last week’s win marked the team’s third straight win. The squad is currently on a three-game winning streak, and they’ll obviously look to continue that streak tonight. Head coach, Jason Black, believes his team has been playing exceptionally lately and is expecting his good play to continue tonight.
Black says, “We have been playing our best ball lately and have a three-game win streak. Tonight I expect a good showing and the team to play for each other and do well. I would like to see them continue to build and keep pursuing excellence on the court.”
The Rangers have been on a great run lately, and it’s going to be fascinating to see if they can keep it up. Especially against a team that at least on paper, seems to be evenly matched. Forward Kolby Howard ‘22 is coming into this matchup really hoping that his team can very happy about his team’s chemistry.
“We’ve been practicing really hard and have been working together well as a team.” Forward Christian Daniel, ‘22 understands how big of a game this is and how big of a test this will be for his team. Daniel says, “This game is going to be one of our toughest games yet we match up well against them. our biggest advantage I think is going to be our size and how well we prepared for this game.”
When you hear the Ranger players hype up this matchup it only makes it more intriguing. This will easily be the most challenging matchup yet for the Rangers. Point guard Nahir Karimi, ‘22 believes that to get the win the Rangers just need to keep on doing what they’re doing. “We are going to need to keep our energy high, play as a team, and keep doing what we’re doing.”
