The Rangers went head to head against the SLO Tigers in what would turn out to be a blowout victory for the Rangers. The score was 14-1. Stanford commit and MLB draft prospect Joey Volchko ’23 threw 14 strikeouts and only allowing one hit in the seven inning battle.

The Rangers hitting was explosive to start the game, scoring three runs in the first inning and nine in the second. It started off with a home run from Cal Poly commit Reece Bueno ’23, and followed up by another home run by Westmont commit Joey Rico ’23. The second inning was just as exciting, with the Rangers hitting two more home runs by Volchko and Cash Rico ’25. The Rangers ended the game off with 14 hits, with 10 of those hits being extra base hits.

The Rangers look to stay hot this Friday against the El Diamante Miners who are coming off a win against 5th ranked baseball program Clovis Cougars. The game will be played at Aaron hill field at 4:30pm, with starting pitcher Reece Bueno on the mound for the Rangers and Fresno Pacific commit Matthew Bettencourt ’23 on the mound for the Miners. Redwood has beaten the Miners three times in a row this season, but the Miners look to stop the Rangers hot streak.
