Students can apply to run for the following positions:

ASB Executive Board

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Rally Commissioner
  • Spirit Coordinator
  • Social Media Coordinator

Class Officer Positions

  • Senior Class President or Vice President (Class of 2025)
  • Junior Class President or Vice President (Class of 2026)
  • Sophomore Class President or Vice President (Class of 2027)

To qualify for a class office position, a candidate must have and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, have been a Redwood student for at least one semester before the election, and be a member of their respective class.

Applications can be picked up in the front office or room 31. Students must submit applications by Wednesday, April 17.

Potential candidates must have two teachers fill out a recommendation form, one of which needs to be from a core content class. Core subjects include English, Math, Science, and History.

Additionally, applicants for elected office are required to gather 50 student signatures on a Petition for Office.

Izek Nelson, ’24, currently serves as ASB President. He says, “I think it’s important to be involved with these processes because if something works or doesn’t work, you can give your own input and voice as to what you think is the best option.”

Running for office is one of many ways to be involved in the election process. When students vote, they give their input on who they want to represent them.

“One of the most exciting things about ASB is running for an office,” Nelson says. “I feel like it’s just important to get involved because you get to see the election process, you get to see the candidates and how they [go about] campaigning.”

Candidates will begin campaigning on Monday, May 6, and voting will open on Friday, May 10.
