On March 3rd, 2025, ASB class applications were released to the public. The document is available in Room 31 or in the main office to incoming students and current Rangers alike to assist in making a difference on Redwood’s campus.

The application is composed of the class form and the elected officers request form. Those interested must fill out the applicant information and a recommendation form completed by two teachers, one being a core teacher (an English, Math, Science, or History teacher) and the other being a teacher of their choice.

Students need to have received parent permission, and the signatures of their assigned counselors and assistant principal. Academic eligibility is a paramount requirement of the process, and has to be verified by counselors.

Applicants must retain a 3.0 GPA and above to qualify.

To submit the form after its completion, students can take it to Mrs. Aston in Room 31 or the student store by March 26th, 2025 at 3:40 PM.

There is no interview procedure, however, applicants must attend one of the two mandatory work days from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on April 7th or 9th. Students can have a preview of ASB activities and the work day permits the Executive Board to survey participants.

The final 2025-2026 ASB class list will be emailed out on May 16th, 2025 at 3:45 PM.

When belonging to Redwood’s ASB, Rangers will find themselves enhancing school culture, spreading enthusiasm across campus, and fabricating large events for the school.

Mrs. Hailey Aston, the ASB director, says, “We have specific committees where they work on certain things. We have one that’s community service… one that’s publicity, really the social media aspect of things, [and more].

Mrs. Aston adds on saying that, “They can be involved in all of these little groups, as well as the big events like Homecoming, Cowhide, and Mr. and Mrs. Ranger. They really get to do things like support the sport’s teams by attending games, making posters… and things like that.”

All students, regardless of their interests, are highly encouraged to participate in ASB.

“There is no blueprint for an ASB kid,” said Mrs. Aston. “It is anybody who just wants a chance to get involved.”

Sofi Zambada, ‘28, says, “Everyone is welcome with ASB. We are one large community with a lot of differences, and we are proud of that.”

ASB works hard to foster a vibrant and diverse community, ensuring that every individual feels included and valued, not only within the classroom environment but also throughout the entire RHS community.

Mrs. Aston says that everybody should join ASB because it is “the best way to be involved in decisions that affect you directly as far as campus culture goes, spirit goes.”

“You really get to be the ones who create the memories that you’ll look back on once you graduate high school.”
