With Thanksgiving break approaching students from Redwood High School shared their traditions, travel plans, and favorite holiday pastimes.
Anthony Bautista, ‘28, said, “Thanksgiving is more than just a week.”
Bautista says what Thanksgiving means to him, “A day where we get to cherish what we’re grateful for and what drives us to see the end of the day to see the sunset and see the sunrise,” says Bautista.
“I enjoy it because it’s a time where I get to be united with a family that’s not blood related.” Says, Bautista.
Some students are going out of California to meet with family members.
Joseph Zurek, ‘28, says, “I think I’m going to go to Tokyo, Japan to meet with my aunt.”
“I usually eat food and save the leftovers for next year until it evaporates.” Zurek says.
Kendric Marmolejo, ‘28, says, “I’m probably going to eat a lot, drink apple cider, and eat turkey,”
The break can be a relaxing time to catch up on work or take a mental health break from school.
