Students used to be able to pick up food deliveries on Main campus, near the student parking lot. Now, since October 16th, which was last week, students have to pick up their deliveries on Vista campus on Dollner Street.

This has proved to be an issue because more than three students have now reported that their food was stolen, or taken because other students mistook the food as their own.

Judy has helped these students. “We’re still trying to work out the issues, so hopefully, next week, when they do it again, we’ll have the names up there so they know where to go, and someone else will help me with that.”

The few students who have gotten their food stolen so far are directed by Judy to the Principal and Assistant Principal, Mr. Orosco and Miss Vaca.

Judy says, “they take over, and then see if they can locate and find out who’s taking their food.”

There is action happening to those who got their food stolen. Judy reported that a student whose food was stolen got paid back by the other student who stole it.

One factor could be student error. For example, a student may assume it’s their food, so they just take it and don’t check the name. Another factor may be the known issue of the school being too big for approximately 8+ deliveries by students everyday.

Judy says, “all the confusion with the kids ordering different times is that they have to only be there at a certain time.”

This may even get dangerous because the lunch period is busy. When the bell rings students want to get in their car and get food, meet up with their friends, or get to the filled cafeteria and try to find a seat. Students coming from Main walk the bridge, while students from Vista are also walking the bridge. This can cause slowed walking traffic, which nobody likes.

But, onto a solution.

Judy says, “if they go over some different changes, the [admin] might want to make something that would better suit all the kids and everyone here.”
