The 67th edition of the Cowhide game is just a few hours away! The Redwood Rangers (7-2) will face off against the (4-5) Mount Whitney Pioneers, in what should be another memorable matchup between Visalia’s original High Schools.
Coming into tonight’s matchup linebacker Evan Gonzalez ‘23 understands the magnitude of the matchup coming into his final Cowhide game.
“I’m very excited, it’s definitely a bittersweet feeling. This means a ton to the whole city and my teammates and coaches.”
Cowhide is truly a tradition like no other in this town, The atmosphere will one hundred percent be loud and electric tonight!
Wide receiver Moses Burk ‘24 feels that to win tonight his team has to stick to playing at the high level they have been playing at.
“We just can’t play down to their level and play hard all 4 quarters and get that hide back!”
Quarterback Frankie Alvarez ‘23 says a Cowhide win would be huge for his team going into the playoffs.
“It would be huge to come out with the win especially before playoffs. They are our rivals so I think a win will definitely boost the team morale.”
If the Rangers can take care of business tonight they will be riding a massive wave of momentum going into the playoffs.
Running back Jacob Perch says a cowhide win would mean everything to him.
“It would mean everything. It would cap off our amazing season. To be able to bounce back and go 8-2 from a 4-6 losing season just says so much about this team and how far we’ve come
