As spring break rolls in, students at Redwood have long awaited the break and are excited to get a week off to enjoy the spring air.

Ciara Hicks ‘25 says, “Over spring break, I will probably just go to the beach and go shopping at the mall.”

All the relaxing plans to sit on the beach with your toes and the sand and shop around at the mall throughout the spring break is like a breath of fresh air.

Amaya Chavez ‘27 says, “During spring break I am having my quinceanera, so we have quince practice the whole week and then it’s on Saturday.”

A celebration of a 15th birthday is a great celebration in many cultures and is important and the rush of getting ready for the big day is coming close, bringing nerves and excitement.

“I am most excited for my quince but, I am also going to go to the mountains and I really like the mountains so I am pretty excited for that,“ says Chavez.

The diverse plans for spring break are fun and an exciting part of break as students can have a week to go on trips and travel around to fun places.

“I am most excited to visit my family in Delano and hang out with my boyfriend,” says Hicks. As many students live far from family, this break brings the opportunity for those to visit their families from far away and also spend time with those who are dear to their heart.

Blue Quezada ‘25 says, “I will probably just bake, the break is much needed.”

Baking is a therapeutic attribute and after a long CAASPP testing for juniors, the break is much needed and a break from all the chaos. Sweet treats are a delicious way to get through spring break and an exciting thing for students’ families to enjoy.
