Redwood Rangers share what they dressed up as on Mr. Ranger week.

Redwoods annual Mr. and Mrs. Ranger week took a deep dive on Monday the 20th through Friday the 24th with the theme ‘Under the Ranger Blue Sea’. This is the second year with the newest edition of Mrs. Ranger so everyone makes sure to go above and beyond.

Before the new edition of Mrs. Ranger, the week was essentially created to highlight a boy of the semester. Aston says,  “So Mr and Mrs Ranger week started off as Mr

Ranger week . It was essentially created because when we had homecoming we only had homecoming queen and Mr Ranger week was to highlight a boy.”

This week’s dress up days were Monday:” Pogues vs. Kooks(Surfer vs. Country Club), Tuesday:“Stay Afloat”(Bring a floaty/beach wear), Wednesday:“SOS”( Neon vs. Lifeguard), Thursday:“Sleeping with the Fish(PJ’s), and finally to end the week Friday:“ Under the Ranger Blues Sea” ( Blue= upperclassmen, white= underclassmen) .

The Dress up days were chosen by the ASB dress up day committee and so was the theme for the week. Ms.Aston ASB director says, “There’s a whole community and the ASB class gets together to figure out what would be the most fun for kids to do and to get the most participation .”

On Monday Redwood students had to choose if there was either a Kook or a Pogue. Monday’s theme was based off of a popular Netflix TV show “Outer Banks”.

Kaitlin White ’23

Guilana Torres ‘26, shares what side she chose on Monday which was either a Kook or a Pogue. Torres says, “I was a Pogue because I wanted to dress up and take inspo from one of the Outer Banks characters.”

On Tuesday Redwood Rangers had to “Stay Afloat” from the rain by either bringing Beachwear or wearing Beachwear. It was difficult for some to bring over the bridge or even just because of the rain.

Kaitlin White ‘23 says,“Tuesday was harder just because it was raining and I would have gone more full out but I think my life vest was still on theme.”

On Wednesday some students were stranded out in the Deep Ranger blue sea from the rain and had a call “SOS”. Wednesday dress up day was a day to be saved dressing up as a life card or wearing neon.

Olivia Saenz ’23

Olivia Saenz ‘23 nominee of Mrs. Ranger, shares how she feels about wearing neon. She says, “I feel good about it. You want to go all out with these things and the bigger the better.”

The dress up day for Thursday was to have a big slumber party and to “Sleep with the Fishes.” This dress day was very special for most Redwood students because all they had to do was roll out of bed and get to school.

Lydia Castillo ’26 shares how she feels about wearing PJs to school. She says,“Basically came to school the same way I went to bed last night.”

And for the last dress of the day, Friday, students were divided between two of the school’s colors. Blue= upperclassmen, white= underclassmen. Makayla Fleming ‘26 “ I chose white because I was a freshman and it was either white or blue so I had to wear white.”
