Ranger students share their favorite Christmas movies in the spirit of preparation for the Holiday Season.

Xavier Regalado ‘28 shares several of his favorite Christmas movies, one being “The Elf on the Shelf: An Elf’s Story.” The movie was based off of the toy greatly loved by children. Elfs on the Shelf are hidden in different places everyday in your house, and found by kids. They are a loved concept and the movie creates a deep dive on one elf named Chippy in particular.
When asked what his favorite Christmas movie is Regalado, said, “Elf on the Shelf, I swear. I watch it every year or the SpongeBob Christmas movies. Let’s be for real, it’s lowkey gas.”
The Christmas movie with the highest number of viewers is “Home Alone.” The movie is about an 8-year-old boy who was left home alone by his parents. At first, he is excited as he thinks his wishes came true but soon he must protect the family home.
Jimmy Gonzales, ‘25, said, “Home Alone, because something about that movie is just really funny. My mom and dad used to leave me home alone all the time, and I kind of had an experience like that myself. That’s why it’s my current movie.”
“Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” is an American Christmas comedy made in 1992 and directed by Chris Columbus. This is a sequel to Home Alone film. It is about a boy who gets on the wrong plane headed for New York. The sticky bandits are on the loose and the boy must put a stop to them. This is the second movie to the most popular christmas movie.
Emery Kuhnel, ‘26, said, “My favorite Christmas movie would have to be Home Alone 2, when they’re in New York.”
This popular Christmas movie starring Will Ferrell, is about a man named Buddy who gets mistaken as an elf. As he gets older, he travels to New York to find his real father. This movie helps to spread Christmas cheer as the main character and his family help Santa save Christmas. This movie is very nostalgic and popular across the world.
Jayleen Lara, ‘26, said, “Elf because it makes me feel very nostalgic, and it reminds me a lot of my family and Christmas from back then.”
