Students during quarantine have to stay in lock down with their families in their homes and find ways to keep themselves occupied by either hanging out with each other among other things. Laura Allen 23′ and Ashtyn Cripps 24′ have input on how to weigh out the pros and cons of living with family during quarantine.
Pros:
- You can get a lot closer to them and create stronger bonds.
- There will always be people in the house to do things with you such as, practice sports with you, watch movies, hang out, and just be there to do fun things together.
- Getting more time together as a family. Before quarantine schedules were crazy, but now there is a lot more time to spend with family.
- Quarantine gives more time for families to try new hobbies together like baking, knitting, or working out and more!
Cons:
- A lot of arguing that comes with it.
- There is a lot more hours a day you are with your family, meaning that there is more time for siblings to annoy you.
- People in the house tend to be bored all the time, therefore there is more boredom and more of not knowing what to do.
- It can cause you to miss the other family members that you cannot see since you do not live with them. It is a sacrifice that has to be made for their safety as well as yours.
While there are cons to living with family during quarantine, the important thing to appreciate is that with your family you do not have to be alone. When being surrounded by people becomes to hard to bare its always good to have zoom classes due to the fact that it can be a break or distraction from having to be surrounded by others so often.
