Pros

  • Decorating early allows people who love Christmas to experience it longer than those who decorate later.
  • People can feel the jolly spirit of Christmas earlier than people who decorate later in the year.
  • Experiencing the decorating with others earlier can be more fun because you are less likely to feel rushed if you do it early instead of waiting till right before the decorations need to be up.
  • Decorating early might also be a better experience for people overall because it can bring them and others together who favor Christmas over other holidays.
  • It might make houses look more welcoming to others because Christmas is known for being exciting as well as a wholesome holiday where families come together and can be diverse since everyone’s family is different.
  • Decorating early can also leave room for people to become inspired to find the best presents possible for their loved ones which may lessen the stress on finding the right presents.

Cons

  • Early Christmas decorating leaves less room for other great holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving to have the spot light.
  • When you decorate early it makes the time you have before Christmas feel longer since technically you are seeing the decorations everyday for a longer amount of time.
  • Decorating early means you have less time to take down Halloween decorations and Thanksgiving ones as well if you want one type of holiday decorations up at a time.
  • All of the money spent on early decorating could cause less money and time used for looking for the perfect presents.
  • It can make Christmas feel too long in a sense where celebrating it gets tiring or boring.
  • People who do not celebrate Christmas may feel left out because their holidays would be even more overshadowed if decorations were put up earlier since it would appear that people were celebrating Christmas earlier than necessary.

Moral of the story decorating for Christmas can be an enjoyable activity no matter the time it is done. During tough times Christmas can make people happy which makes it magical no matter how long you put up decorations. To finish off, whether you cut the turkey before jingling the bells as long as you are happy that is all that matters.
