Recognizing the need for financial support, Ms. Citalli Veloz proposed the popcorn fundraiser, stating, “The purpose of the popcorn fundraiser is to help support the FFA chapter. We hold many lunch meetings to provide food for our students, which is a significant part of our budget, alongside costs for floral projects and agricultural.”

Ms. Veloz hopes to raise around $2,000 to kick off the year on a strong note. FFA students have been instrumental in this fundraising effort, reaching out to family, friends, and community members for support.

Marileigh Coon, ’25, and Sadie Hemphill, ’25, the FFA’s vice president and president, shared insights into how students contributed to the success of the fundraiser.

Coon, mentioned, “Many students from our ag leadership class got quite involved, and I believe they ordered a lot of popcorn.”

Hemphill added, “While I don’t have specific names, I know some students stepped up and sold a significant amount of popcorn—kudos to them!”

Among those who helped raise the most funds were Cassidy Ashford, ‘26, and Dutton Bates, ‘28.

When asked about their approach, Ashford said, “I shared the fundraiser on all my social media and texted anyone I thought would be interested—and they were!”

Dutton said, “I wanted to contribute and be a big support for the FFA community because I grew up with it; I felt it was important to give back.”
