From April 21-22 2022, the Redwood Dance Department held their annual dance show. Due to Covid, this was the first dance show held since 2019.

The dance show, “Please Don’t Stop the Music” included multiple performances from all dance classes (which includes intro, intermediate, advanced, hip hop, international, and dance force.)

It was such a popular show that the LJ Williams theater was nearly sold out both nights and the line into the theater was all the way down the street before the theater was even open.

They opened the show with an explosive start, utilizing fog machines and music to hype up the crowd. The show was very high energy and fun for the dancers as well as the crowd.

The show had some very impressive performances, some of which were even choreographed and/or directed by students in the dance department.

Student choreographers/directors include Isabel Ledesma, Madison Andrade, Kaeli Tripp, Emmerson Pressley, Bryann Block, and Isabella Tanck just to name a few.

The amount of different classes and styles made the performance really fun, as the show would transition from the beautiful dances of classes such as advanced dance or dance force, to the energy filled fast paced dances from hip hop.

There were even a couple beautiful and heart-wrenching solos from dancers Mandy Redden which had a deep message behind it,and Emmerson Pressley as well as a showing of Kylen Gray’s music video “Miss You.”

“Please Don’t Stop The Music” was such an exciting and entertaining show for everyone who went and there was not a moment of the performance where the crowd was not going wild. “Please Don’t Stop The Music” was a dance show where you did not one the dancers to stop dancing.
