As the school year comes to an end, seniors are frantically becoming more anxious about their college plans. Seniors will soon be splitting apart and taking their own path towards success, whether it be going to community college, 4-year university, or joining the armed forces.
Derrick Chau, ‘19, who is planning to attend UCLA in the fall is majoring in mathematics. There were many different factors that lead Chau to make his final decision on this school. “I chose this school in particular for various reasons including location, opportunity, and gut feeling. UCLA is filled with incredible scholars to learn from and experience a new chapter of our lives with, and after visiting the campus, I knew that’s where I should be,” said Chau, who is one of the top students in the senior class. As a reflection of his accomplishments throughout high school, Chau was one of the few students across the nation to be awarded UCLA Regents Scholarship, a prestigious award given to top UC undergraduates.
