The Red Ink club held its first meeting on Wednesday September 7th to introduce the officer team and discuss the club’s goals for the year.

During lunch in room 103, the Red Ink club held their first meeting. At the meeting, the officer team discussed what the club is and the spring event Writing on the Walls [WOW].

Co-President Samantha Smith, ’24 says that the Red Ink is a “creative writing club where you can express your feelings in writing.”

At meetings, members are welcome to express their creativity. “We offer help with essays [and] we don’t make you write; we give you ideas and creativity,” Smith adds.

The Red ink club was started back up again last year and both presidents are working hard to rebuild the club’s presence. Co-President Luke Mueller, ’24 says that getting students involved has been a challenge the officer team has faced.

Mueller says that he is excited for the WOW event. Writing on the walls is an event that takes place in spring that the club takes part in where Redwood students submit their works to Mrs. Link to possibly get their writing put up on the walls of Redwood.

Bailey Burdick, ’23 is new member. Burdick thinks the first meeting went “…really well. The leaders were very personable and charismatic.” She says that she looks forward to “hearing what other people write and participate in and seeing all the other people in the club grow and learn how to write better.”
