Emma Jenan, ‘25 is a freshman at Redwood High School who plays tennis on the Redwood women’s varsity team.
Jenan says she has been “playing tennis for six years”. She is excited “about growing closer to her teammates.” Her initial passion for wanting to play tennis was a push from her father who “forced her to play”, she says. She describes it as a “sophisticated” sport that brings a “fun challenge”.
She says how after her first meet she was “pretty excited” because “it was her first high school match” and “there was a lot of nerves.” Jenan says she loves the feeling of winning and “hitting a good shot”. She describes it as a mental game and says the mentality of tennis is “very important”.
Jenan finds it really exciting being a freshman on the varsity team and says the girls are “super sweet”.
She shares that being on varsity is a huge challenge, but she has a huge passion for it.
Jenan plans to win as many matches as possible, and she strives to “try her best at everything” in order to move up to number one.
