Madden Rookie Numbers: Jimmie Burk Breaks Redwoods Single Game Rushing Record

On Thursday, October 24th, the Rangers defeated the Green School in a dominant 61-14 win, with the star of the show being senior running back Jimmie Burk, who broke the single-game rushing record with a video game number of 344 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Jimmie Burk now has a total of 1386 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns. He is only two touchdowns away from twenty-yard touchdowns on the season.

Breaking a school record is a really big deal, Burk says breaking the single game rushing record “feels great, at first I felt like I wasn’t gonna get it at halftime, then I came in and coach told me what I had in the third quarter, and I was on track for it. I can’t god enough and thank my O line enough because they’re the ones that made it happen for me.”

Burk is two touchdowns away from the big 20. Coming into Cowhide next week, Burk says to possibly reach that number he would have to “just go in and play my hardest, make sure our team just plays with full effort, make sure no one makes that many mistakes, and just come out with the victory.”

On his mindset coming into the playoffs, Burk says, “Same thing, just go game by game, just make sure our team makes the least mistakes, make sure we perfect everything at practice, and just go a hundred percent.”

On what aspect Jimmie believes he improved on his running game in the off-season, Burk says, “Probably reading the whole O line, seeing what holes open up and reading it and hitting it, and probably my speed too.”

Burk had one more thing to say to the Ranger nation, “Thank ya’ll for the support.”
