Redwood was coming off an 0-2 skid coming into their non-division matchup vs Tulare Western. Things started off pretty worrying as a slant down the middle thrown by Tulare Western quarterback Juju Hernandez, ’28, got the mustangs all the way to the five yard line, they would pound the ball in for a touchdown, but it was all Redwood from there on out.
Redwood’s first drive would end in a passing touchdown from Luke Sanchez, ’26, as he escaped from the pocked and slinged it to left corner to the end zone to find his receiver for a wide open touchdown.
3 Ranger receivers snagged individual touchdowns, Cash Lovenburg, ’27, Oliver Richardson, ’27, who has four total receiving touchdowns this season, and Jarius Brooks, ’28, who caught a fifty yard from Sanchez.

Sanchez himself would go 16 of 20 for 225 yards and the three passing touchdowns including a rushing touchdown which he went airborne for and propelled himself over defenders for.
Those six points allowed were the only points allowed up until there was four minutes left in the game. Redwood’s defense dominated as the defense as a whole tallied up 38 total tackles and 3 tackles for loss. The defense has a total of 211 tackles on the year
Redwood will face off against the Hanford Bullpups, Friday, September 19th, in a highly anticipated matchup. Will Sanchez work his magic again? Show up to find out!
