Balancing the Beat and the Finish Line: Emily Inphom's Journey Through Music and Sports

From the cross-country track to the marching band field. Redwood High's Emily Inphom has mastered the art of balance, proving that passion, perseverance, and teamwork can truly contribute to a well-balanced student's life.

I learned a lot from the post. This was one of the writings I struggled with the most because it was difficult to schedule an interview. I had originally planned to interview Inphom during 6th period, but she didn't have a 6th, which created an obstacle for me. Additionally, this post taught me that it's okay to spend a lot of time on a story because some stories need more time than others.

The Importance of Protests: Student Perspectives on Speaking Out

In today's political and social climate, protests have become one of the most visible ways for individuals to express their beliefs, gaining popularity among the younger generation. Whether through walkouts, marches, or demonstrations, students across the country are finding ways to make their voices heard.

Out of all the stories I've written, this report is my favorite for a variety of reasons. This story was written while various other students and I had participated in a walkout. It was refreshing and rewarding to be able to write a story about a topic many people are passionate about.

Inside the Courtroom: Mock Trial Student Reflection

As the Redwood's mock trial team prepares for another state appearance on March 20th, several students shared their experience about the highs, the hurdles, and the lessons they've learned along the way.

I enjoyed writing this story; it was my first time writing about Redwood's mock trial. It was challenging scheduling interviews, but the results were worth it. This story taught me a lot about handling scheduling conflicts

Lola Sullivan Takes The Stage in Redwood's Spring Musical

From auditions to opening night, sophomore Lola Sullivan shares her journey to the stage.

I've never written a story about Redwood's theater students before. But it was very fun learning about the behind-the-scenes of a musical. Scheduling interviews was fairly easy, but this story taught me the importance of staying organized with deadlines.

Students Unite Together To Celebrate Cowhide

Redwood High students gear up for the 70th annual Cowhide game with unmatched school spirit, creative dress-up days, and a week full of tradition and excitement.

This story taught me a lot. I quickly learned that creating interviews during Cowhide Week can be extremely difficult. Many students are busy helping out and more. This can cause problems when you have a timely story. This story taught me the importance of staying organized.

Redwood Students React to the End of Grading Period 1

Students reflect on the challenges, growth, and motivation as the first chapter of the semester comes to a close. From struggles with time management to moments of success, students share honest reflections on what they've learned and how they are preparing to move forward with stronger habits.

I learned quite a few things from this story. This is more related to media usage in journalism. I knew which media can and can't be used in the gigantea. I also learned how to organize interviews.

Redwood’s Latest Fashion Trends: What’s in This Fall?

From social media influence to celebrity inspiration, Redwood students weigh in on what styles, colors, and aesthetics they expect to dominate this fall.

This was the first story I got to create on my own. This story taught me a lot about what goes into a story and the work journalists put into stories daily. I also learned about how to create better transitions within stories.

Cause 4 Paws Makes Debut at Redwood’s Club Day, Aiming to Aid Animals in Need.

On September 3, 2025, Redwood High School students gathered in the quad during lunch for Club Day.

This was the first story I've created. I acquired several skills from this story. I learned how to prepare for an interview and how to handle situations when there are not enough people available for an interview.

Goals: My main goal in journalism is to inform Redwood High School accurately while giving a voice to those who are often overlooked. I want to make everyone feel involved and share perspectives from other students' points of view. Overall, I hope to make a positive impact on the redwood gigantea.
