Tyson Phillips, ’26, has incredibly high hopes for this upcoming season. He is looking forward to “breaking old times, specifically my 500 time, and overall improving as a team.”
Phillips states how this is one of their, “fastest years as a team, and I expect us to go very far.” Phillips explains how the team has recently been moved down to Division II, but this new change can work in their favor when it comes to securing a valley ring. “That is ultimately our new goal: to clinch Division II,” says Phillips.
Phillips credits the teams success to Coach Fuller. “He gets to know each of us really well, and we all have just incredible relationships with each other,” says Phillips.

Karli Rasmussen, ’25, hopes to improve individually as well as a team this season. Rasmuessn says, “I just want to get faster, improve my times, and just try my best since it’s my last season.” Rasmussen feels that with such a strong team this year, “we are going to go really far, and definitely win EYL (East Yosemite League).”
Rasmussen has the same hopes as Phillips, in regards to clinching the Division II title in a few months. When asked about the coaching style of the team, Rasmussen replies, “Our coach is amazing. It’s always really fun and we have such a hardworking team, so that makes it even better.”

Kelan Anderson, ’25, is really looking forward to his final season as a Redwood swimmer. Anderson says, “Our team is really looking great. Coach Fuller always pushes us to our limits, and makes sure we are always pushing to break our records.”
When asked to use one word to describe his team, Anderson replies with “competitive.” He feels that the teams competitive nature is the key to clinching league, playoffs, and ultimately valley in this final swim season.
Anderson feels that the environment is key to their success as a team. Anderson says, “It’s such a fun environment. Being around the boys all the time makes it more than a team, it’s a brotherhood.”
