As the uncontested Rally Commissioner for the 2024 to 2025 school year, Julianna Torres, ’26, discusses her plans for the next school year and her inspirations in ASB.

Julianna Torres, ’26, is the Associated Student Body’s [ASB] Spirit Coordinator. Now, she is running to continue serving the student body in another role: Rally Commissioner.

The Rally Commissioner is in charge of organizing all assemblies and rallies. Taylor Langford, ’25, is Redwood’s current Rally Commissioner and a candidate for ASB President.

“I watched Taylor Langford this year, and it just seemed like a really fun position to have and [I felt it was] a position that I could thrive in,” Torres says.

Torres plans to use her experience as Spirit Coordinator as Rally Commissioner. She says, “I feel like everything I learned during [my time as] Spirit Coordinator could apply well to [the role of] Rally Commissioner.”

Torres’ sister, Savannah Torres, ’23, was the ASB president from 2022 to 2023.

“My sister inspires me a lot. She even inspired me to be in ASB my Freshman year and I say I definitely look up to her a lot with all of the positions she held during her time here at Redwood,” Torres says.

Torres says that her goals are based on restoring school spirit. “I want to bring more spirit into the rally, and I want to bring back the Redwood spirit we had before COVID times,” she says.

Torres looks forward to implementing her plans next year. “It’s definitely going to be a lot of fun,” she says. “I think we’re going to have a lot of fun during the rallies and we’re going to make [it] a giant deal. It’s going to be great.”
