Bio
Jalen and I are editors for the Arts section of the Redwood Gigantea. My main focus is the arts section while Jalen has a heavier load of balancing editing for the arts writers as well and his duties as editor in chief for the Gigantea. Some of our responsibilities include editing stories for writers in our section and helping them with things like questions and writing inspiration for stories. Some of Jalen's extra responsibilities include running the first five minutes of class and acting as a main connection between 6th and 1st period and relaying a lot of information etc. We supervise and coach around seven writers in our section and some of the challenges we help them with is getting over their writers block and helping them when they have trouble getting interviews, trouble with the website, or when they have questions about the writing format.

Reflection
This is the most important part. Look at the reflections of each of your team's writers. Identify areas for growth for the team. Set 3-5 second semester goals for your writing team. Provide the goal AND the reason why it is important. Also, provide a sentence or two to determine how you will evaluate the completion of this goal. Example:
- One goal we would like to set for our writers this upcoming semester is to make sure to ask for pictures of the people we interview during the interview. This goal is important because in the first semester we usually forgot to ask and it would usually hold up our publishing process and we had to run stories without certain pictures due to this time crunch. At the start of the second semester we would like to implement this by telling our writers to write down questions about if the interviewee has professional pictures our not in their journalism notebooks so that they remember while interviewing for the story.
- A goal that we believe will benefit our section is to have more collaboration with our member's. We can ask their opinions on certain issues we have and take their ideas into consideration in order to strengthen the bond between us editors and our writers and make everyone feel like they are playing an important role in the creation of the Gigantea. We can make sure this goal is completed by making sure we bring up troubles to the whole group and prompt them to give their opinions on the subject.
- Another goal that we have for this semester is to hone in more on what makes our writers strong or knowledgeable and bring that out. We began to notice some of our writers strengths this semester but we feel as though we can truly bring out their strengths if we are more tentative to it this semester. This does not just include writing but could include gathering a better understanding of our writers interests or areas that they are very knowledgable in so that we can have them write stories they like or at least keep the group updated so that someone else can write about it.
