The Netflix original series Inside Job released the first half of season one on October 22, 2021, then the second half on November 18, 2022. The series was beloved by many and they were excited for season 2. However, Netflix decided to cancel Inside Job leaving many shocked.
This decision made Inside Job fans upset, some feeling like the cancellation was uncalled for, and others upset at the story not finishing. These Rangers share their thoughts about the cancellation and Inside Job as a whole.
The first fan, Damon Owen ’25, began watching Inside Job because a friend mentioned that Insane Clown Posse made an appearance on one of the episodes. He didn’t have much expectations for the show before he watched it.
“I expected it to be something like Family Guy or like American Dad, like one of those adult comedies pretty much,” says Owen.
After watching it, he fell in love with the show and its characters. Even calling the show perfect. When being asked what his favorite qualities are, he said “Everything. Down to every little minute detail. It was perfect. There wasn’t anything wrong with it. It was great.”
After he heard the news of the show getting canceled he expressed his frustration towards it.
“I’ll be honest I was mad, real mad. Y’know like, they left it on a cliffhanger. All that suspense, and then they just get rid of it. It’s like, really? Like c’mon you had such a good thing then you just got rid of it.”
Topaz Montoya ‘25 also got the show recommended to her and the show’s colorful animation really drew her in. At first glance Montoya expected the show to be good and funny.
After finishing the show she said “I was like damn, that’s crazy and like it was really good. I was like, laughing a lot after watching it.”
Montoya really enjoyed the humor in the show, especially Myc’s humor. She really enjoyed the show’s plot and was intrigued by the characters.
When Montoya heard the news of the cancellation she was really upset with how the show had to be ended.
“I was so mad, I was like, really sad, cause like at the end with Reagan. I wanted her to have a good ending, but they just canceled it on a cliffhanger.”
These two were very upset at the cancellation of a show they found to have great writing that made you interested in the plot, memorable characters that you connect and feel for.
These Rangers both agree that the cancellation on Inside Job wasn’t deserved.
