Here’s a simple way to make cute braided bead rings that you could give as gifts or keep for yourself.

Materials

  • 20 gauge wire (a 4 inch and 8 inch piece)
  • 4 millimeters beads
  • Needle Nose pliers
  • Wire Cutters

Step 1: Cut two pieces of wire that are about 8 inches and 4 inches long using wire cutters.

Step 3

Step 2: Bend the 8 inch piece of wire into an up-side-down U and then have the left side of U wire overlap over the other to the right.

Step 3: Then get the 4 inch piece of wire and use the pliers to bend the end into a small hook. Thread the hook wire down into the loop of the other wire.

Step 4

Step 4: Close the hook onto the left side of the loop. Then bring the long part of that wire to the left of the loop.

Step 5

Step 5: Put a bead on the middle wire and then bring the right wire around the bead into the middle to start the braid. Then get the left wire and bring it into the middle.

Step 7

Step 6: Add another bead and continue this pattern until the braid is long enough. 6-8 beads is good.

Step 8

Step 7: At the end of the braid use pliers to get the middle strand wrapped around the wire without the last bead. Once you close it around, you can cut the excess wire.

Step 8: Thread the two remaining strands of wire through the loop and bend them back. Cut off the excess wire.
