This year’s tennis season has had a rough start due to Covid-19. The players have to follow many regulations including; having to wear a mask while playing, being socially distanced, and no handshakes.

Russell Brown, the Redwood boys’ tennis coach says, “We expect to win the league every year. We want every other league team to make their goal to be second to Redwood.”

Brown has a lot of faith in the team this year and expects to come out on top as the best team in the league despite the Covid-19 conditions. This year, Covid-19 had presented the boys’ tennis team with multiple challenges. Along with constantly being socially distanced from one another and the lack of handshakes. There have also been regulations put in place for things such as not being able to have water out for players.

“We were on a bus headed to Lemoore for our first league match on March 12th last year and were radioed to turn the bus around right before we got to the freeway, and that was it. This year, I expect to play a full season,” says Coach Brown.

This year Brown hopes to have a complete season as to the year prior, the season was cut short due to Covid-19.

Regardless of these regulations and last season’s unfortunate ending, this season looks promising.
