Jose Altuve having a Conversation with Aaron Judge after a walk allowed Judge to advance.

The World Series has been going on for 115 years and has been played about the same number. Not only that but the New York Yankees have the most World Series with 27 currently. Enough about the past, let’s talk about the teams that have a shot at being World Series Champions.

The National League

The NL (National League) has two main powerhouses that have the hitting and fielding skills to be able to lead their city, from just a city to be a city of champions.

1. Los Angeles Dodgers: The LA Dodgers are obviously the main candidates for being these years Champions until they were eliminated by the Nationals in the NLDS. They definitely have the hitting power with a hot 1, 2, 3, 4 batters with Joc Pederson as the leadoff batter that can always get on base. And yet hit for a bunch of home runs, as we saw in the Homerun Derby when he hit about 60 home runs in just one round. The number two batter Max Muncy is such a threat in the box. He is also one of the best base stealers for a husky first baseman. He is the kind of guy to have around 30/20 years in his prime. Justin Turner, the 3 batter in this stacked line up that this Dodgers club has. He is a guy that has a solid glove at third base and can get you extra-base hits and home runs. And the 4th batter in this lineup that is in the race for MVP Cody Bellinger. He can hit 50 home runs in a single season for the rest of his career. It is so sad to see them be eliminated by the Nationals. Speaking of the Nationals…

2. The Nationals have been a scary team since 2011 when they first acquired Stephan Strasburg from San Diego State, and even Max Scherzer in 2015 from the already down-hill Tigers who had just been eliminated from the American League Division Series. Not only did they have a one -two punch of both of them in this years rotation. But they have a young stud in Juan Soto a young power house hitter that will get on base for you in any situation. But the Nat’s also have a contact fist shortstop Trae Turner ,that has just straight burners on the base paths. I can see Trae having about 110 RBI’s in a season with 30 stolen bases in his prime. Not only that but they have a gold glove powerhouse in Anthony Rendon who has had a MVP season at the hot corner.

The American League

The American league only has two true contenders. With the power pitching in both rotations and bullpens. And we cant forget about the power bats that are in every slot of every single line- up. Speaking of hot line- ups.

1.The Yankee’s are such a hot team, who have been since… practically the begging of time. I mean seriously they have as said 27 World Series Championships under their belt. And most likely more to come with that line- up. We have Dj LeMahieu as the lead off, who is having an MVP calibre season. With about 100 RBI’s and to many defensive run’s saved to count. In the two hole we have Aaron Judge, a huge second batter. That not only will give you a huge bat, but he has a cannon for an arm on the field with many outfield assist through out the year, and through his career to come. The third batter in this line- up, young Gleyber Torres who is just phenomenal at second base, but whose bat is becoming more of a bigger one in this postseason so far. He will be a huge part of the middle infield for the Yank’s. Then the Dangerous Edwin Encarnacion, who will give you a lot of RBI’s and home runs in this already stacked Yankee’s line- up. The only problem I see is that these guys strike out just way too much to be a consistent force in the box, epically when it all comes down to October.

2. The Houston Astro’s are obviously going to be the winners of this 2019 World Series. I would be very comfortable going against the Yankees in the ALCS even if they were down one or two games in the series. I would not worry when we have a stacked 1 ,2, 3, 4 batters. We have George Springer leading off this amazing star packed line- up. Springer is a guy who will get on and score no matter the pitcher. He also has good speed on the base paths. He is a guy who is in the begging of his prime who will continually get better as we go along. Michael Brantley is a huge part of the stacked outfield. He is right in the middle of his prime, he can get on base and score them just like anyone else on this line- up. But not only that but he is technically new to the playoffs and usually players who are new to the playoffs know to play their bums off to be on the roster the next season. The third batter is a very well known second baseman who is great fielder and a power hitter/ contact hitter. He is also super fast player that can steal and make the impossible play on the field. Then you have Alex Bregman a hot corner specialist with the power bat that is an extremely goof pull hitter. Not only do they have a good line- up but they also have an amazing rotation of Justin Verlander, Gerrit Cole, and Zack Grenkie are all 300 strike- out type of starting pitchers who can go deep into games and not get worn out.

Final Predictions

The Astros and Nationals will both be in the World Series. The Astros will win the series using the playoff veterans that they have against the young Nationals team who has made the playoffs before, but not as good as now. The Astros have a lot more pitching and playoff experience.

That is why the Astros will beat the Nat’s 4-1 in the series.
