On Thursday August 22, ASB hosted Rally Club’s idea where students could paint Spirit Jeans.
Spirit Jeans are jeans that have some sort of writing or design on them that represent school colors or a student’s graduating year.
Ms. Aston decided to have this fun event because she “wanted to give kids the opportunity to hang out if they needed it and add a little spirit to their closet for the first game and other ones too.”
Her inspiration sparked from seeing other students making spirit jeans online.
Josefina Castillo ‘28 says while painting her jeans that she, “just wanted to give it a try and be a part of something.” She heard about it from the Remind app.
She says, “I am painting RHS and then 2024. I’m also doing some handprints.”
Angelina Jimenez ‘25 and Gianna Saenz ‘25 came together to paint a pair of jeans.
Saenz ‘25 says, “This is exciting. It’s also reminding me that we’re going to graduate this year, so I think it’s pretty fun. We get to hang out after school and do some crafts.”
Jimenez enjoyed her time there and was sketching out an “RHS” design while I was interviewing her. Her friend, Gianna Saenz ‘25 was sitting next to her and waiting to paint.
Jimenez ‘25 says, “I think it’s really fun because we get to use these during spirit days or football games and they’ll be really fun to wear.”
