On December 17th, 2018, the Redwood Girls Basketball team not only got a stronger schedule, but they jumped to 2nd place in the Central Section DII Rankings! This was due to them not losing any games in their last tourney and their win against Union on Monday making their record 10-2. The rankings look like this: Yosemite is on top with a 9-3 record, but they have a schedule strength of 9.2, so they are ahead of Redwood, even though the Rangers have a 10-2 record. Not only that, Redwood has a schedule strength of 6.2. After their big win yesterday, although the rankings did not change, they are still on pace for home court advantage in their first playoff game of the season. However, there are still many games left in the season, so it is not guaranteed that it will happen.

Although it was a huge victory, the Rangers only won by two against the Tulare Union Tribe. Final Score: Redwood 62, TU 60!!! Leading scorers including Clarissa Chavez with 22 points and Janessa Haro with 17 points. Make sure to go support the Lady Rangers at the Mission Oak Tournament the 27th-29th or at their next home game, which is against Lemoore on Jan. 3rd, 2019.
