Living in the Central Valley may seem like a burden to some but it holds so many hidden treasures that are less than a hour or so away from home.
The Sequoias
Sequoia national park was the first created to protect the living organism Sequoiadendron giganteum, or as we know them, the Giant Sequoias. These trees can grow up to 300 feet tall! Not only do these big trees inhabit the park but you can also find great mountains, deep canyons, and roaring rivers. The park attracts over 1.5 million people every year coming from all over the world.
Crystal Cave, which is also located in the Sequoias is one of over 200 marble covered caves found within the park. It was first discovered in 1918 and since then thousands of people explore it every year. It dose not rate high on the excitement scale but if you’re looking for something to do with kids, or just want to take in everything nature has to offer, this is a great attraction.
The park offers visitors a place to get away and take in nature. You can do everything from scaling mountains to spreading out your sleeping bag and laying under the stars. And when its this close to home, getting out there is as simple as packing up the truck and heading out.
