ASB is put a lot of work into Cowhide. The entire class and Mrs. Aguilar have been planning the whole cowhide starting a month ago, and even longer. They sacrifice hours and hours to set up and make posters for the week, dress up days, and the game.
Mrs. Aguilar and her students decorated the school with all the posters, hide spots, and streamers we saw all over the campus. Makayla Margosian ‘19, ASB Vice President, said that, “We spent 12 hours throughout the whole weekend (the 20th and the 21st) setting up and we spent a week making all of the stuff…it took a lot of hard work.”
Brianna Lopez ‘19, ASB President, said, “I hope everybody goes to the football game, a lot of work was put into this game, it would be cool to see everyone there.”
Mrs. Aguilar said, “the next biggest event to set up for is the rally on Friday this week….this rally is a big traditional thing, only very few things are changed from years past.” Besides the rally, they also set up and got ready for the carnival in the quad during lunch on Friday, decorating the bull, and putting together the last few lunchtime activities that are left.
Lunch fun is when all of the football players get together in the quad to do fun games (that involve singing and/or dancing) to get everyone there excited for the big game. The players were involved in a team lunch, trivia games, lip sync contest and more all planned out and orchestrated by ASB.
They even have a WOW Factor that does different fun stuff during the games that they need to put together. This means they needed to have a sort of committee to rally up the crowd and get them excited for the game with fun events. Rangers were excited and surprised that blue powder exploded in the student section and on the students!
