Redwood held its annual Freshman Tailgate on August 19th in the quad. The freshmen got to play games, were given free food, and entry to the football game.
The tailgate was the perfect opportunity as a way of getting friends together to part in fun activities.
Makayla Fleming ‘26 says, “It was pretty fun, I hung out with a bunch of my friends, they were playing volleyball…which was really nice.”
Liam Bradford ‘26 says, “People were playing sports, everyone was having a good time, there was music playing, everyone was having a good time!”
Freshmen students expressed their opinions on the outlook for the rest of the year.
Robles says, “Don’t forget to go to the Football games, they’re super fun!”
The Freshmen tailgate was put together and held by Redwood’s Link Crew. The club helps the incoming students transition into highschool.
As a member of link crew, Julissa Velasquez ‘23 says, “It was pretty fun having the first event for freshmen…showing them to get involved and not to be scared to come out to things”
Before the Freshmen Tailgate could be executed, members of the club have to create a plan first. “We made posters inviting freshmen to the Tailgate…drew out a plan on where we were going to set up…what we were going to bring,” says Velasquez.
Velasquez says, “We executed what we wanted to do.”
