Nolan Yang ’22 had an away match at El Diamante on April 4th at 4 o’clock in the afternoon. Yang overall had 4 double faults, 15 unforced errors, and 4 aces! His opponent had 3 double faults, 17 unforced errors, and no aces. Yang won his first game 6-1, and also won his second game 6-1. Since Yang won both games, there was no need for a third game. Being a freshman and number 2 on varsity, Yang played very smart and had a very well played match.
Yang says, “During my match I felt calm and confident. I felt good after I won.” Yang has been playing tennis for 5 years which explains why he not only was the only freshman to have made varsity, but is the second best. Yang plans on continuing to play tennis all throughout high school and college. His goals for playing during high school is to “get better and to get more experienced.” Yang definitely has a future ahead of him for tennis. Come support him and the rest of the tennis team at their WYL tournament, home on Thursday the 11th!
