The Red Ink Club’s first contest of the year, the flash fiction contest, has officially ended. Throughout the entries, Miss Link has chosen the top three students with the best pieces of work. Here are the winners of the contest and their work.

First place winner is Meredith Martin:

Dearest Amanda,

It worked. I’ve finally opened a wormhole. I don’t know how long it’ll be open. So I must take this chance. If this is goodbye, know that I died for our legacy.
My everlasting love-Thomas
PS: As I write, I have a treacherous sense of deja vu. Heed with caution.

Dearest Amanda…

Second Place winner is Isabel Larson:

We look out the tiny circular window that had supported our curiosity from a young age. I watch her observe and saw amazement settle on her face. The sight was like none other, I heard her mutter a small whisper “home” we weren’t looking at the glittering mass of stars anymore, but our new home.

Third place winner is Monica Aviles:

She lit up the candle with her trembling hands. The scratching on the wall proceeded to give her goosebumps. A loud thud startled her, and the candle blew out. As she fumbled for the lighter, an enormous claw dragged her under the bed.

Congratulations to the three winners of the contest. If you are interested in writing please join Red Ink’s next contest, or look out for future club meetings!
