Dr. Gridiron Talks About His Gridiron Days
This was my first story ever, I decided to interview the principle himself Dr. Gridiron, this story is about Dr. Gridirons history with football, from Pop Warner to playing safety for Fresno state Dr. Gridiron made a lot of friends and learned a lot of life lessons along the way. I decided to interview Dr. Gridiron because I had just entered Redwood and I wanted to know more about our principle, and I learned a lot off stuff about him.

Wrighting Your Own Story: Mr. Wright’s Athletic Triumphs
Now, My second story was pretty similar, It was another deep dive on an RHS staff member, but this one was on the Sucess 101 teacher, Weightlifting teacher, and assistant wrestling coach Michael Wright the second. What sparked my idea for this story was that one day I was scrolling through his brothers wrestling website and I came upon his portfolio, he was a star running back for dinuba high school, he was even the leading rusher at one point, and he made state in wrestling all 4 years while in high school. So this story covered what grit and determination did he need to achieve all his athletic accomplishments , and how it has passed on to his coaching

The History of Cowhide
Now, my 3rd story was actually a print edition for cowhide. What inspired me to make this story was I have just entered the school and I knew what Cowhide was I just didn't have that much background on it, so this story were for freshman like me that didn't have much backroundon the big game, and for people that just wanted to know history from past games. This story covered the origin of the cowhide and how this cold blooded rivalry was formed, and some fun facts about the game, like Redwood losing a shootout to the maroon school in 2017 57-56, or no one winning the cowhide at all in a bazare game that ended in overtime thanks to the maroon school missing a game winning field goal, it was all very interesting.

Building the Next Generation of Ballers: A Deep Dive on Coach Jason Black
Now my 4th story, this story is a personal piece on the boys vasrity basketball coach Jason Black. Now, what inspired me to make this story? Basketball season was nearing and I wanted to do a basketball piece, but honestly Im not really fond of post games or pre games, I like to do more like backstorys on coaches, so I saw this as an oppertunity to do another one, and I got a pretty solid interview. This story covered Jason Blacks backstory, from growing up with a single mother in Lerain Ohio, to playing basketball, to joining the military in 1992, to coaching the game himself, all this shaped him into the coach he is today.
Where have I been?
Before entring Journalism I wasn't really the type of person to start a conversation with someone I don't know, Journalism helped me with that because although you do organize questions, people can respond in different ways with the questions you ask so it makes it intersting. When I first enrolled for Journalism I thought it was just some regular writing class, but it's a way to be involved with the school, and it helps with speaking to people.
Where am I Now?
My 5th story was just published, and although I wish I would have made more stories, I think the quality of my work was acceptable. I am less nervous about interviewing people now, I actually look forward to them now because it's cool to learn personal stuff about the staff and students at Redwood. I am a part of the wrestling team although I am out for the season, I like to help out my coaches to show that I hustle. Journalism has made me a little more social, but Im looking to become more social.
Where am I going?
Two of my personal goals for next semester is to pass all my classes wit an A- or higher, And write at least 8 stories next semester. I also want to be more social in a way where I can just start a simple conversation with someone. I also want to be a part of a sports podcast next semester because I have been brainstorming about that since basically the first week.
