Even after the loss at Dinuba, Redwood’s still gonna be great.

On August 24, your Redwood Rangers faced one of the most embarrassing blowouts that could happen against the football powerhouses. Against Dinuba, the defense allowed 35 points! Meanwhile, the offense couldn’t put up a single pair! But that’s not what this story is about. It’s about the expectations for the Redwood Varsity Football team. So now, it’s time to look forward into the future, and see how good the football team might be this year.

This game will be held today, at the Mineral King Bowl. Hope to see you there!!!

First, let’s all remember that Redwood is already 0-1, So they can’t possibly have an undefeated season. Anyway, when asked what team they were most looking forward to playing, Dominick McCormack, 21′, is most excited to play El Diamante and Caden Shafer, 21′, and, as far as I can tell, the MVP, LaDre Aguilar, 19′. They also agree that Mt.Whitney will be one of the most exciting to play, mostly because of the long lasting rivalry. Not only that, LaDre says that Tulare Union will be the most exciting team to play, most likely due to the challenge. John Vega, ‘19, says that the two games he’s most looking forward to is White Out against El D and Cowhide towards end of the season.

Second, they were asked what they believe their record will be this season. McCormick says they be 6-4, Vega says they will be an 8-2 powerhouse, Caden has a feeling that the Rangers will go 6-5, LaDre must have a REALLY good feeling about the team, because he said he thinks his team will be an INCREDIBLE 9-1 dream team.

When asked how good they expect to be, McCormick knows that they are strong, but admits that they need to work on the little things. John said they, “will be really good”, and that they have LOTS of potential. Caden, despite the loss to Dinuba, believes that they will still be hard to beat. Finally, LaDre has the impression that your Rangers are, in the words of Tigger in Winnie the Pooh, “gonna be great”.

Rangers vs. Warriors

Shaun Ball is the head coach of the team again this year and I asked the boys how he will impact the team this season. Dominick said that he’s a great coach, and that he pushes the very best out of them. John points out that he makes sure that the players are disciplined, and ready to give it their all. Caden said that he will put others in, if needed. Finally, LaDre stated that his passion for the game really helps the team tremendously.

When asked who their best player was, All three of them, except for LaDre (because I didn’t allow him to) agreed that LaDre Aguilar, wide receiver and safety, is the best player on the team. Beacuse he couldn’t say himself, LaDre said that Gabe Vasquez, safety and quarter back, is the best player on the team.

Finally, when asked who would be the toughest team to face this year, Everyone agreed that Tulare Union will be the toughest team they will face all season. However, John Vega points out that Tulare Western will also be extremely tough this year.

So now, without further ado, the expectations for Redwood Varsity Football are, a 7-3 record, which means they will likely be a tough team to beat. LaDre Aguilar, will, almost undoubtedly, become this year’s MVP. The toughest team to beat will without a doubt be Tulare Union. Your Redwood Rangers will be playing in this game today! Not only that, if you’re a Freshman, and you stay late enough, you can come watch the game for free! I’m Vincent Aldridge, and I’m signing out!
