The class of 2022 has had a unique experience. This year students faced many changes, not only worldwide, but within our own Redwood community.

We have had to change over and over again as we’ve journeyed through RHS.

COVID restricted us even when we returned. There were assemblies again… in the bowl. There were dances… at Gropetti Stadium. There was in person instruction… behind masks.

Substitutes were hard to find this year. Exposed and quarantining teachers left on-campus teachers covering each other in a panic. Who knows, your math teacher might have covered a P.E class this year!

One substitute that was impossible to find was the want for the senior year experience.

Even ‘normal’ has changed. Homecoming Kings, Mr and Mrs. Ranger– traditions now need to be equitable and the new Redwood has aspects of our past and our future.

COVID changed us, but the class of 2022 changed Redwood as well. This year, our creativity was tested and seniors had to find ways to make Redwood a community once more.

As the last class that has had a year of pre-COVID high school, we take with us knowledge of what Redwood was before the pandemic and leave behind us a new legacy.
