This week, Redwood Dance Force is leaving on Thursday, March 16th, to head to Anaheim, California for the USA National Competition. Dance Force previously attended the USA Dance Classic and received the championship division (the highest division in the national competition).

Makayla Bullock,  ’24, says “Dance Force has been intensely running these routines every day.” Bullock adds, “My main goal for nationals is to get off the stage and know I did my best and all I could give, and hopefully we can come home winners.”

Bullock closes off her statement with, “I feel both of our dances have so many technical aspects and both have so many strengths that can hopefully get us that 1st place.”

Gwyn Miller, ’25, says “We put so much effort into all of our practices and making sure we will perform our best at nationals.” Miller explains that her team has “looked forward to this moment for so long and I am striving to let all our hard work pay off.”

Rozenthal Ramos, ’24, says “We have been practicing and cleaning so much these last months.” Ramos adds, “Whether it is morning or after school or even in our sixth period we are working so hard to clean our routines.”

Ramos continues by saying, “I feel we have plenty of strengths in both routines like the beautiful unisons in ‘The Lonely’ and the string presence and visuals with ‘Cash Money.’”

Aubrey Langer, an alumnus of Redwoods Dance Force and choreographer of ‘The Lonely’ says, “I am so proud of all the effort this team has shown this season. On top of academics, their social life, and other extracurricular activities, they still manage to put in the work when asked.”

Langer continues, “They have already won in my eyes by being the first team from Redwood to qualify for nationals in the highest division possible.” Langer ends with “I hope they have fun, make memories, and leave their heart on the stage.”
