California Scholarship Federation requirements for high school and college courses to get into CSF

By: Ruby Houser and Isabel Copeland

To qualify for point allocation, a minimum of 10 points must be earned from last semester’s grades. It is important to obtain 4 points from List 1, and the remaining  7 points, including the earlier mentioned 4 points, must originate from Lists 1 and 2. However, these points can exclusively be sourced from List 1. The remaining points can be accrued from any list (List 1, List 2, or List 3).

Only five courses may be utilized to meet the qualification criteria. Notably, summer school and courses taken at COS or another community college do not contribute toward the point allocation.

Additionally, physical education, courses in the place of physical education, repeated subjects for grade improvement, clerking and office/teaching assisting courses, pass/fail basis courses, and summer school classes do not qualify for CSF points. Furthermore, TAs or academic tutors are not eligible for point allocation.

For High School classes worth 10 credits in a semester, an A grade can earn you 3 CSF points. A B grade can earn you 1 CSF point. A C grade can earn you 0 CSF points. An additional point is granted for an A or B grade in an AP or Honors course, with a limit of two courses.

Point Distribution for College Courses earning 10 credits in a semester. An A grade is 6 CSF points. A B grade is 2 CSF points. A C grade is 0 CSF points.

Start by entering your high school courses. If possessing college courses for entry, these will be inputted in Section 3. It is recommended to have your transcript available while entering your courses.
