The California Scholarship Federation [CSF] club held its first meeting of the semester preceding Redwood’s “Club Day” on January 25th.
On Thursday, January 19th, the California Scholarship Federation [CSF] club held their first meeting of the semester. The meetings remain in the Annie R. Mitchell Library during lunch.
The club officers present include: President Kylie Schieferle, ’23, Vice President Leena Aziz, ’23, Secretary Danelia Palma, ’23, Treasurer Eliza Howard, ’23, Junior Associate Natalie Nelson, ’24, and Advisor Mrs. Nicole Vieira.
During the first meeting of the semester, students took attendance, discussed the membership drive that will occur from January 23rd through the 27th, provided application details, and addressed lifetime memberships.
Every semester, members must submit new applications to renew and qualify for their membership. Since last semester’s grades are finalized, freshmen are now able to submit applications.
Similar to the previous semester, the club will post QR codes around campus as they implement their innovative digital application system.
Within one’s application, the students’ Redwood Transcript from the Fall Semester— accessible through Powerschool, must be attached. If the student took COS courses throughout the semester, they must attach their COS Transcript in addition to their Redwood Transcript.
After submission, students can clarify their status with Vieira in room 208 during lunch. If they qualify, they must pay five dollars either in person or online, however there is an online fee.
As for lifetime memberships, seniors must apply for at least one semester of their senior year to be applicable. If the student is unable to apply this semester, there will be one last chance in May for seniors to apply in order to fulfill a lifetime membership status.
A lifetime member is a student who has qualified for four semesters from their sophomore through senior year.
If seniors accumulated their lifetime membership with their Fall Semester grades, seniors will be notified of their COS luncheon invitation.
It is advised for seniors to check their emails for emails corresponding to this event on Tuesday, April 18th, 2023.
Towards the end of the meeting, CSF officers mentioned CSF’s third annual Virtual Leadership Conference, held on Saturday, February 11th from 9:00 am-12:00 pm. Click here if you are interested in registering for this free event.
The club will be offering an application workshop on January 24th in the library if any questions arise about qualifications and the application process. Students are also welcome to visit their booth during Club Day on January 25th in the quad.
To receive updates on meeting dates or upcoming service events, students can reach the CSF officer team via Instagram (@rhscsf), Remind (@rhscsf2223), and Minga.
