Coffee club is one of Redwood High School’s newest clubs. Advised by Mel Carrillo, Redwood’s choir teacher, and Co-Presided by Allison Hart, ’22, and Shelby Wisehart, ’22; it is marketed as a place for baristas and coffee lovers alike.

Hart says, “the main focus of the club will be trying different local coffee shops and gathering all age groups on campus.”

She says the club can be used by its members as a place to “socialize, chill between classes, or study and complete homework. It is pretty much what members want to make it.”

Hart adds that club members “will travel as a group in the mornings with available drivers, and meet at coffee shops, or some of the officer team will be taking orders and delivering to campus.”

According to Hart, “When creating this club, my co-president, Shelby Wisehart and I had the underclassmen in mind who are attending pre-first and don’t have a place to go afterwards during the free period on Mondays.”

Though the club is yet to have its first meeting, it has already amassed 100+ followers on its Instagram page. Coffee club is utilizing tools such as Remind and Instagram to keep its followers and club members in the loop of what’s going on.

Coffee club’s first meeting is set to be on September 13 in the choir room at 8:05 am. Coffee will be provided, and the leading officer team will have introductions. Members will also vote on the first coffee shop they would like to visit.

Brooke O’Leary, ’22, Coffee club’s Vice-President says, “I am so, so excited for our first meeting. I’m looking forward to meeting new faces on campus and forming a community of coffee lovers… I know so many teens thrive off coffee, so I’m looking forward to creating new friendships with all grade levels, and having a great time drinking the world’s best drink!”
