With the school year progressing, more clubs are beginning to form such as “Club 55.”
“Club 55” has just recently taken off, and even though the club began after Club Day, they seem to be very successful here on campus with 32 members at their first meeting.
Siella Beswick, ‘23 is the president along with Leena Aziz, ‘23 as vice and Kylie Farias, ‘23 as the secretary.
These girls have created “Club 55” in hopes to, “bring positivity to our campus and the world around us by participating in various activities that help others in our community,” says vice president Beswick.
“Club 55” is all about spreading positivity and wellness around Redwood’s campus, these girls want to offer a safe, supportive space for anyone and everyone.
Beswick goes on to talk about the activities they have planned for the future. These activities are to help bond as a club and to just have a good time while doing good to the world at the same time.
One activity they have planned is a “collaboration with Valley Oak SPCA,” explains Beswick. Helping animals can be a relaxing and fun way to give back to the community.
The club’s name, “Club 55,” has a specific meaning that goes along with their purpose. The girls, “searched for a number symbolizing wellness, self love, growth, positivity, and determination for a better mindset,” (courtesy of the “Club 55” Instagram).
The three officers decided the number 55 would be a good representative because it signifies the act of letting go of the weight of the past.
Because “Club 55” was not able to participate in Club Day due to them just starting up, they are welcome to new students around campus. You can find Redwood’s “Club 55” for more information on Instagram with the handle, @_club55.
